On January 9, 2026, the School of Microelectronics at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) successfully hosted the 2026 "Global Scientists" Forum at Chongwen Zhiyuan. The forum brought together ten distinguished scholars from leading universities and research institutions across China, the United States, Europe, and South Asia to engage in in-depth exchanges and discussions on cutting-edge topics in the field of integrated circuits.

The forum featured two parallel sessions, "Devices" and "Circuits," moderated by Professor Xin Cheng, Dean of the School of Microelectronics, and Professor Xiaoguang Liu, respectively. Over twenty faculty representatives, including Professor Quan Pan, Associate Dean of the School, and Associate Professor Fengwei An, participated in the forum both online and offline.

At the outset of the forum, Dean Cheng Xin extended a warm welcome to the attending scholars on behalf of the School. He introduced the rapid developments at SUSTech and the School of Microelectronics in faculty development, talent cultivation, scientific research, and industry-university-research collaboration. Dean Cheng noted that strategically located in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, a key national strategic region, SUSTech, despite its relatively short history, has rapidly grown into a high-level research university with international influence. He sincerely welcomed global talents to join and contribute to the construction and development of the microelectronics discipline.
