Students Practice | Into Huawei

2019-11-21  views:7002

Foreword: In the latest top Fortune Global 500 list of 2018, Huawei is ranked 72nd. With about 170,000 employees, Huawei operates in more than 170 countries and has built 36 joint innovation centers around the world. On March 2, students from the first Experimental Class of Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macau of the School of Microelectronics, led by Professor Guo Yuejin and Professor An Fengwei, came to Huawei for a survey and study.

What motivated the students of the experimental class to get up early on a Saturday morning ? (Don't laugh! I really heard that many students got up early in the morning to wash their hair and were almost late.) It was the first time that half (really half!) of the School of Microelectronics to visit a company, Huawei.

Talking and laughing all the way, the half-hour drive went by quickly.

Entering the Huawei exhibition hall, everyone was gathered by a professional-looking photographer holding an SLR camera for a group photo. Turning around, we suddenly realized that our casual dressing differed slightly from the visiting delegations in formal clothes (we suddenly understood why the teacher refused our creative but strange clothings). As we settle, some staff members had already come to speak with us.

Speaking of Huawei, our first thought was the shocking 5G foldable mobile phone that just launched a few days ago. But when we entered the exhibition hall, we realized that Huawei was everywhere in our life. From commanding and dispatching in disaster rescue and real-time city management, to bank card pos, classroom cameras, family diagnosis and even the unknown trash cans on the streets – they all possess Huawei-style humanized design elements.

The visit lasting for more than an hour offered various content, and we are amazed by the ubiquity of Huawei's high-tech applications. At the end of the visit, the staff members introduced the current conditions of Huawei to us. When he proudly introduced to us that Huawei's R&D ratio was sixth in the world, Professor Guo Yuejin could not help but praise this ratio, which is even higher than that of Intel and Apple that we’re familiar with.

With a little reluctance (or perhaps resentment over not having enjoyed the food in Huawei’s canteen), we left this eye-opening Huawei exhibition hall and began our returning journey.
