On April 13, 2019, students from the Experimental Class of the School of Microelectronics, SUSTech started their second company visit, the BYD Company. Although the weather was a bit gloomy, it did not affect everyone's enthusiasm. At 9: 30 a.m., the students got on the bus to BYD and started the journey.
After nearly an hour ride, the students arrived at the first stop of the trip, BYD Pingshan Park. A spacious exhibition hall is located here. The students took a group photo with the teachers of the school.

After taking the photo, the tour guide responsible for liaison with the company introduced the new vehicles of BYD to the students in the exhibition hall. The BYD's hybrid vehicles caught the most attention. The students learned about cross-discipline subjects of electronics and broadened their vision through observing the new energy vehicles.

At noon, after enjoying lunch, the students took a break and started the second stop of the trip, BYD Kuichong Park. The reliability laboratory of BYD is located here. The students visited the experimental equipment under the introduction of the tour guide and learned how to test the stability of chips and devices in harsh environments such as high temperature and humidity. The students also learned the production process of the ultra-clean room and gained basic perceptual knowledge of the precision of chip manufacturing. The students benefited a lot from the visit to the laboratory.
Visiting the laboratory
At 2 pm, the students returned to the school by bus and ended the second company visit of the school of Microelectronics of this semester with success. In this activity, the students combined the knowledge they learned with the visit, which has deepened their understanding of theories on the textbooks and broadened their horizon. This activity has fully embodied the goal of the School of Microelectronics to “cooperate with enterprises to cultivate high-quality talent for China's chip industry" and the teaching concept of "learning through practice".
