In a blink of an eye, the semester of this summer has ended and vacation has begun. However, the students are still quite active in their learning state and they are using vacation time to enrich themselves. In order to provide the students with an opportunity to broaden their horizon and experience the atmosphere in universities of Hong Kong and Macao, as well as to warm up for the cooperation projects between renowned universities of Shenzhen and Hong Kong, on the morning of August 2, 2019, students from the 2017 Experimental Class of the School of Microelectronics visited the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) with our teachers Chen Quan, Li Xiexi and Chen Wenjing.

At 7:30 a.m., after the assembly, the students got on the bus to HKUST with anticipation.

Upon arrival, Chen Quan and Li Xiexi led the students to slowly explore the beauty of the HKUST: exquisite teaching buildings, comfortable student communities, clean and tidy corridors, and of course, the hard-working teachers and students of HKUST.

After a preliminary taste of the HKUST, Professor ShengHui Song gave a brief introduction on the disciplines and other basic information of HKUST in the conference room. He made a refined analysis of science and engineering in the current era, covering the physical layer, application layer, and the system layer, and expressed support and encouragement for everyone to choose microelectronics. Professor ShengHui Song warmly welcomed all of the guests visiting HKUST and hoped that they would come to HKUST for their undergraduate or postgraduate studies in the future.

Later, led by some postgraduates of HKUST, the students visited the wireless communication laboratory and the micro-nano manufacturing laboratory of HKUST. In the wireless communication lab, the students got to see various devices including radio frequency antennas, sound absorbing materials, and instruments for measuring input and output power. In the micro-nano manufacturing laboratory, the students saw various kinds of micro-nano manufacturing equipment. The teachers of the laboratory gave an overview. The students reviewed the relevant knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and gained a deeper understanding of the manufacturing process.
