On Dec 17, the first Major Introduction Meeting for the Experimental Class of Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macau was successfully held in the Activity Room of Zhicheng College, Executive Director Yu Hongyu and Deputy Director Zhou Shengming of the Preparatory Office of the School of Microelectronics and Associate Professor Wang Fei, attended the meeting among others. Yu Hao, Deputy Director of the Preparatory Office of the School of Microelectronics, hosted the meeting.

Yu Hongyu speaks

Professor Yu Hongyu gave the attendees a brief introduction of the school. He introduced the operation features of "new engineering training” of the School of Microelectronics; the scientific research layout of the "Four Centers and Two Platforms" and existing IUR cooperation programs of the school. He emphasized the huge demand for top talent in microelectronics in the current market and the strategic deployment of the state to vigorously develop the IC industry as well as train high-end IC talent.

Wang Fei speaks

Associate Professor Wang Fei made a thematic report on chip process design and micro-nano processing. The students showed great interest in the wide application fields and interdisciplinary research features of MEMS.

Zhou Shengming speaks

Zhou Shengming, Deputy Director of the Preparatory Office of the School of Microelectronics, gave a detailed introduction on the IUR cooperation situation of the school. At present, the school has joined hands with ARM China, a world-renowned IC IP provider, to establish the "Joint Laboratory for Advanced Chip Design”. The school is also working with relevant enterprises to push forth the AI Laboratory, the IoT Laboratory and the Medical Electronic Laboratory steadily.

As the meeting reached the Q&A session, the students were enthusiastic and raised their hands frequently to ask questions. The professors answered their questions carefully.
